How Was Your Experience at TDT Seattle?

My experience at The Dress Theory Seattle was unlike any other bridal shop experience I had before! This shop was the very last one I visited of the four I had previously been to, and I almost cancelled my appointment because I thought I had already found my dress. This is a PSA to all ladies shopping for their wedding dress: go to as many bridal shops as you can because you might just find your dress at the very last shop you visit...and go to The Dress Theory Seattle!! I worked with Val and right away I was in love. The energy she brought to my appointment and my group was exactly what I had been looking for: genuine, invested in me, honest, respectful, and SO fun. I had the pleasure of visiting their previous location in Wallingford and everything about that shop is welcoming, calming, beautiful, and so very bridal. Their selection of dresses was exquisite, and I genuinely loved every single one I tried on. When I finally found the dress for me, Val and the whole team was so accommodating when I wanted to make a few slight alterations to the dress. Val even reached out to the designer to get the dress I wanted in my size for me to try on! Val and the whole team never ceased to go above and beyond for me right up until the day I brought my dress home. I am forever grateful to be a Dress Theory Bride!

How Was Your Wedding?

Oh my gosh, I don't even know where to start about how amazing our wedding was. I have been dreaming about getting married at Roche Harbor ever since our family started boating there when I was a little girl. Their weddings are exceptionally beautiful, and we have such a special connection to that place and the San Juan Island, it has always been the place I have known I wanted to get married. I cannot speak highly enough of every single vendor who helped bring our day to life. The team at Roche Harbor was so involved and helpful throughout the entire year we spent planning this wedding. They gave us all our vendor recommendations and stayed in touch through every step of the way. I didn’t have a wedding planner, so they really held my hand through most of the financial calculations, timeline decisions, menu and beverage selections, and décor. And our vendors! Every single vendor was flawless, and I cannot thank them enough. Our photographer, Mercedes, literally went so far above and beyond the whole weekend and never stopped capturing every moment of the weekend. She was positive, helpful, so freaking talented, and just the kindest person to have with us during even the most intimate moments of our wedding day. We had an unforeseen family emergency 30 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start, and every single vendor (and family member, and guest, and Roche Harbor Resort dock and hotel staff, AND restaurant staff member) dropped everything to help us and get us the help we needed. This wedding would not have gone nearly as smoothly if it wasn’t for the incredible team of people we had around us. On a more personal note, my husband, Griffin, and I, are just so happy to have spent the entire weekend surrounded by loved ones in our most favorite place. I cannot believe I am a Roche Harbor bride, and I cannot believe my wedding photos look like the ones I have always dreamed of with the iconic Hotel de Haro in the background. Griffin and I have been dating for over 6 years and are so thrilled to finally be married and still swooning over this special and magical day. We are so grateful for our friends and family, and every person who has contributed to our wedding day – Val and The Dress Theory Seattle included!!

Our Vendors:

I am so thrilled to say our wedding was almost 100% local, San Juan Island vendors! Our videographer is Orcas Video, and you can find our wedding video on their Instagram page, @orcas_video. Our fabulous hair and makeup stylist was Alexis Michael (there are some fun videos of our wedding day on her Instagram, @alexismichaelhmua), she glammed our entire wedding party and my mom (6 girls!) all by herself. A true magician. Our flowers were by Camas Designs. Our cake was by Felicitations Bakery, our DJ was Miked Up Productions, string lighting was by Slauvas Lighting Co. Our fantastic officiant was Kevin Cullen of “I Do…San Juan Weddings!” Everything else you see from the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception, was provided by the venue, Roche Harbor Resort. Our beautiful stationery and vow books were from Papertree Studio located on the East Coast. All my jewelry was Mejuri, and the suits worn by the groom, groomsmen, and fathers of the bride and groom were from Indochino.
